groundhog day -OR- blah blah weather blah blah

On my ride to work this morning, I was thinking to myself, "I wonder how all the folks feel who have stored their bikes for the winter," and, "I will NEVER put my bike in full-on winter storage."

The reasons are obvious. It's been in the 40s (F) and above for about a month now. Granted, this isn't typical midwest weather, but with even the possibility of temperate midwinter riding, I could never consider storage for either of my bikes. I imagine myself peering out the window as children play in the park on a midwinter heatwave day. If I'm going to put my bikes in storage, I might as well consider myself in storage as well... screw that.

Alas, the weather forecast calls for an end to these springlike conditions. The change is coming tonight. So, instead of highs in the 40s, we'll be having highs in the low 30s for at least the next week. It will be harder to be so smug about the storage deal once the cold weather returns, but I'll still be riding.

Only four more weeks of February. Hopefully it will be a short four weeks. Oh, and the groundhog? Who needs him? ;-)
